INTRODUCTION
Have you ever felt anxious that you’re missing out on something better—an event, a deal, or even someone’s approval? You’re not alone. FOMO is a powerful force in our culture, shaping everything from our purchases to our spiritual decisions. In this episode, we examine how FOMO drove King Saul to make disastrous choices, and what we can learn from his story to live with greater peace, patience, and purpose.

Giving into the Spirit of FOMO will produce

    1. Impatience with others

    2. Insecurity within yourself

    3. Control over your circumstances

    4. Compromise in your convictions

Four Decisions to avoid and reject the Spirit of FOMO?

DECISION 1: I embrace PERSISTENT obedience when pressured to compromise
You shall go down before me to Gilgal. And behold, I am coming to you to offer burnt offerings… seven days you shall wait… - 1 Samuel 10:8

He waited seven days, the time appointed by Samuel. But Samuel did not come to Gilgal, and the people were scattering from him. - 1 Samuel 13:8–9

DECISION 2: I prepare for FAITHFUL obedience when pressured to take control
I said, ‘Now the Philistines will come down against me at Gilgal, and I have not sought the favor of the Lord.’ So I forced myself, and offered the burnt offering. - 1 Samuel 13:12

DECISION 3: I practice PATIENT obedience when people express disappointment
Samuel said, “What have you done?’” And Saul said, “When I saw that the people were scattering from me…” - 1 Samuel 13:11

DECISION 4: I live with SURRENDERED obedience when given the power to manipulate outcomes.
You have done foolishly. You have not kept the command of the Lord your God... The Lord has sought out a man after his own heart… - 1 Samuel 13:13–14
