INTRODUCTION
In this episode, Milo and Olivia expose the dangers of “Ozempic faith”—a superficial Christianity that wears the appearance of godliness without its power. They explore how to avoid hollow spirituality and pursue genuine, transformative faith rooted in God's power and presence.
TWO TYPES OF FAITH
An Ozempic faith seeks to treat the symptoms of sin so that a person’s life can appear godly.
A Godly faith embraces the work of the Holy Spirit to grow in intimacy with God.
CENTRAL IDEA
Avoid people who that exhibit lifestyle choices of an “ozempic faith” and embrace those who have a godly faith.
2 Timothy 3:2-5 For people will be lovers of self, lovers of money, proud, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, heartless, unappeasable, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not loving good, treacherous, reckless, swollen with conceit, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having the appearance of godliness, but denying its power. Avoid such people.
Who are the people that are helping define what godly faith looks like in your life?
Observe Their Actions and Character: Look for consistency in their words and actions. Genuine faith often manifests in love, humility, patience, and integrity.
Notice Their Prayer Life: People who prioritize prayer and seek God's guidance regularly often serve as spiritual influences.
Evaluate Their Fruitfulness: Spiritual fruit such as kindness, self-control, and joy are indicators of a genuine faith that influences others positively.
Observe Their Mercy and Compassion: Helpers of others, especially in times of need, demonstrate a practical application of godly faith.
Check for Accountability and Humility: Genuine spiritual mentors are humble and willing to be accountable and teachable themselves.
Listen to Their Testimony: Their personal stories of faith and how they've relied on God can inspire and clarify your own understanding of what it means to live a godly life.
Look for Consistency Over Time: True spiritual influence is demonstrated over time, not just in isolated acts or words.
