PART 2: REFLECTION
Before we dive into the new year, it’s important that we take a moment to look back. Taking the time to reflect on the past year, will surface lessons learned and moments that will be easily forgotten. Below are four areas of reflection that will help unearth what has taken place over the past year.
AREA 1: YOUR RELATIONSHIP WITH OTHERS
What are some key relationships that have changed over the past year? What are some of the reasons for those changes?
AREA 2: YOUR RELATIONSHIP WITH EXPERIENCES
What experiences shaped you this past year? How did they shape you in a healthy way? How did they shape you in an unhealthy way? What life lessons are you going to walk with because of those experiences?
AREA 3: YOUR RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD
How did you experience God this past year? What did you learn about Him from these experiences?
AREA 4: YOUR RELATIONSHIP WITH YOU
What did you learn about yourself this past year? What experiences gave you a sense of purpose and meaning? How would you define that purpose and meaning?
SUMMARIZE IT
Look over the answers you provided to these questions. Put together a short paragraph that summarizes the past year. Use this as a time to define how you will remember what you experienced. This empowers you to take the steps that are in front of you for the coming year.
