The Trap of Spiritual Browsing

Spiritual browsing is the practice of sampling spiritual truths, experiences, and communities based on personal preference and felt-need. It is faith treated as a consumer option, curated to fit one’s lifestyle rather than transforming it.

And it comes with unintended consequences:

  1. Cultivates preference over conviction

  2. Elevates personal taste over trusted obedience

  3. Leads to a superficial godliness at the expense of authentic christ-likeness
