Honor in an Age of Self Focus
Honor is a fading virtue in today’s culture. People are often encouraged to focus so narrowly on themselves that they rarely consider developing the core qualities that form the foundation of honor.

Accountability
Respect for others
Truthfulness
Candor
Courage
Responsibility

Anyone can practice honor when life is predictable and under control. The true test of honor comes in moments of chaos, when pressure and uncertainty reveal the depth of one’s character.
For the Christian, seeking to honor God in every aspect of life naturally produces a life marked by honor. Such a life demands the full measure of who we are, continually shaped and redeemed by God’s grace.
