THE BRONZE BASIN
Before the Sacrifice was offered
Before the priests could offer sacrifices, they first had to wash at the bronze basin (Exodus 30:19). This act of cleansing wasn’t optional—it was a sign of reverence. The priests had to be clean before approaching God, because how could they represent the people before the Lord if they themselves were not first purified?After the Sacrifice was offered
After presenting the offerings brought by the worshippers, the priests were required to wash themselves. This act served a dual purpose: physically, it was a way to cleanse the blood and remains of the sacrifices from their bodies; spiritually, it symbolized the need to be purified from the sins that had been confessed and atoned for through those offerings. The washing reminded them that while they helped facilitate reconciliation between God and the people, they too needed continual cleansing before approaching His presence. (Hebrews 10:22)Before Entering the Holy Place
Before anyone could enter the Holy Place—which was accessible only to priests—a washing had to take place.
Justice without integrity is hypocrisy;
Integrity without justice is self-serving.
JUSTICE is a moral quality or habit which perfects the will and inclines it to render to each and to allwhat belongs to them.”
INTEGRITY is the appropriate alignment between moral standards and behaviors.
Application
Prepare for worship in a manner that prepares your heart for worship
Ephesians 5:25-26: Christ loved the church and gave Himself up for her to make her holy, cleansing her by the washing with water through the word…Remove those things that would disrupt your service towards others
2 Timothy 2:21: Therefore, if anyone cleanses himself from what is dishonorable, he will be a vessel for honorable use, set apart as holy, useful to the master, ready for every good work.Look into the Mirror, not to explore your vanity but to investigate your integrity
James 1:23-25: For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man who looks intently at his natural face in a mirror. For he looks at himself and goes away and at once forgets what he was like. But the one who looks into the perfect law, the law of liberty, and perseveres, being no hearer who forgets but a doer who acts, he will be blessed in his doing.
