The books I read shape the leader I become.
Over the years, I've noticed that the books that most deeply shape my leadership do more than expand my knowledge. They form my character, sharpen my abilities, and guide my decisions. They help me grow in three connected dimensions of leadership:
- SpiritMy inner life that shapes my convictions, motives, and priorities.
- SkillHow I develop the capacity to translate knowledge, resources, experience, gifts, and talents into capable, effective action.
- StrategyThe disciplined alignment of priorities, relationships, capabilities, and resources toward a clearly defined purpose with decisive action.
The most useful books provide a clear framework that helps me move from insight to practice. A book's value is not simply in what I remember, but in how I allow it to change the way I lead.
That conviction inspired the Resilient Leader's Library. On each post you'll find a book card like the one here. I rate the book on all three shelves and name the virtues I believe it can grow in you.
The highest rating decides the shelf.
Start Wherever You Are
Each book sits on one of three shelves: Spirit, Skill, or Strategy. Each entry distills a central framework into a digestible, practical guide and highlights the virtues that putting it into practice can cultivate.

My Prayer for You
My prayer is that this library helps you do more than discover your next book. May it help you strengthen your spirit, sharpen your skills, and move with strategic action so that you can become a more resilient leader, better equipped to serve those entrusted to your care.
Start with one book, and see where it leads.
